First flight in the 2018 season of a young Bonelli’s eagle. From one of the regularly monitored and supervised sites, the volunteer on duty noticed the empty nest already at dawn and an adult standing on the lookout. About half an hour later the young eagle, probably a male, peeped out for a few seconds only to return concealed from the observer‘s view but continuing to be watched by the adult. A positive sign in a season characterized, unfortunately, by several failures due to natural causes. In the next few days, other young eagles will be taking their first flight.
We are here waiting to see them all fly free!
